Sri Lanka Lions & Army women unbeaten on day one
Sri Lanka - Indonesia friendly encounter of sevens rugby took place at the CR&FC grounds today. The day two will commence from 2pm - 6pm tomorrow.
Indonesia men and women visited the island for this friendly encounter as they will host the Asian Games in August. Rugby sevens is also a part of the Asian Games and this will give them some preparation as they don't come through the qualification system since they are the hosts.
Sri Lanka fielded two young teams as most of them were under 21 players. The Lions beat Indonesia 43 - 12, Sri Lanka Police SC 47 - 07 and Sri Lanka Tuskers 43 - 05. Touring Indonesian team managed to win against the cops as they will play again tomorrow with the same opponents.

In the women's segment Sri Lanka Army who were the champions of last year's Dialog inter club sevens was on a prime form. They won all three games convincingly over CR&FC 49 - 00, Air force 24 - 05 and beat Indonesian women 29 - 00.
