Harin Fernando appointed as Minister of Sports

Former Joes rugby player in the late 90's and one of the youngest Politicians who contested from Badulla, Harin Fernando was appointed as the Minister of Sports recently.

Harin will be also responsible for Telecommunications, Digital Infrastructure and Foreign Employment. Speaking to Media Hain said "Sports is a challenging field with many association is a challenging job. I am looking forward for it. I will be getting expert advice from past greats who had played the respective sport at the highest level. He ended by saying "I want Sports in the country to be played hard, safe and clean with correct spirit and to accept win and defeat in correct spirit.
