Supporters of CR and FC can look forward to more action as the Red Shirts have strengthened their ambitions for the rugby season with the enlisting of St. Peter’s College player Vishenka Silva for their match against CH and FC on Saturday.
Another new face for CR will be a player from Samoa, Auvae Gasolo.
The two signings come at a crucial juncture for the Longden Place club as they push to reclaim the league title from defending champions Kandy SC.
Silva, the 2025 Peterite skipper and winger enters the arena with a reputation for speed, aggression, and clinical finishing.
His leadership at school level and the ability to break defensive lines make him a vital new weapon in CR’s backline. His inclusion is expected to add both flair and stability, especially in high-pressure situations where his composure will be invaluable.
Equally impactful is the arrival of Samoan powerhouse Gasolo, whose physicality and experience bring a new dimension to CR’s Forwards strength.
Known for his robust ball-carrying and defensive toughness, Gasolo is expected to play a central role in establishing dominance in the set pieces and contact play.
Silva and Gasolo significantly elevate CR’s depth and versatility providing the team with match-winning options across the park.
